Interesting Optical Illusion on New Seedling

Postby aspenkeep » Wed Oct 04, 2006 2:51 am

I was taking pictures of my latest seedlings to bloom and had thought to get another picture of a seedling that I like.

Before you look at the pictures I want to say the bloom IS very textured. The white sections are lower than the colored sections.

However, when you look at the photo of the latest bloom to open you will swear there are things sticking out all over that bloom. (reminds me of feathers) It's just an optical illusion. The bloom has texture melding with dark veining that fools the eye.

Needless to say I am enjoying this seedling. Starts out dark and gets lighter. Bloom size 3" from base of bottom lobe to top of right upper lobe.

What a gorgeous blossom? Reminds me of a huge strawberry. How has your seedling matured - size , bloom count etc. Would love to trade for a baby. Nancy

Wow, that's a beautiful bloom!!! I've never seen anything like it. Are you going to name it and make it available? I want one!
